Concrete CMS makes running a website easy. Go to any page in your site, and a editing toolbar gives you all the controls you need to update your website. No intimidating manuals, no complicated administration interfaces - just point and click.
I manage a website for our women's' golf league and there are three other women who help me. We needed something WYSIWIG without a lot of programming required. ConcreteCMS is just that. Started with a template and got our site up in 3 days. Videos and templates are great.
For sure best CMS out there for most sites. Having a great balance of good out of box tools, flexibility and user friendlyness for customers and editors. Had a 80+ year old customer that was able to edit and create content.
I've been following this CMS for a while. After the switch to a new architecture in version 7, the capabilities and possibilities have really multiplied. It takes some effort to build new features behind the scenes, so developers will need to learn the concrete5 approach, but once you get it, it's easy to envision how to implement new designs and features. For end users, the content editing is intuitive, which is the biggest selling point.
Good program looks promising
Best CMS out there. UI is ease, simply drag and drop
I had struggled to find a package that I can use as a vanilla site for my franchisees to use - most of them have no experience of web site building. I have 20 years IT experience and I struggled with some of the other packages! This fits the bill perfectly and when you join the community (free) it is so easy to add extra widgets to you site many of which are also free. Can't praise this enough.
I am amazed at the out-of-the-box elegance of Concrete5 5.7. It is a delight to write and edit inline, and it comes with great resources, such as a lighbox, slideshow, a simple and clean wysiwyg editor, etc. A little difficult to understand how it works, at first, because it's a completely different concept - I guess this is the future of CMS. Definitely worth trying.
Installation and parameters are easy to do.
Tried a bunch of web content management platforms include enterprise class system that cost over $50k. Concrete5 is fast, flexible, well structured and easy to use. Highly recommended! Give it a try and you'll see.
Why don't all CMS's behave like this? If you have a basic understanding of html and CSS like me, you can template this in less than half an hour and be rewarded with a full live editing environment. Log on to your page, select the bit you don't like and edit it like word. Click publish and you're done. It's like editing from the front end, very intuitive and totally unique. Highly recommended!
Setup took 5 minutes, easy. Pressed install blinked maybe a dozen times and it was installed on my server. I have never seen a CMS download and install that fast before. I have used CMS's before but this i believe is far better than others.
This is the real deal and \\\\\\\"responsive\\\\\\\" to boot (strap)! It is NOT just a blogging script but a full blown development platform. Yes there are paid add-ons; however this gives the whole proposition a commercial footing as the developers & Core Team are being rewarded for their services.
it is a true CMS under the skin, rather than a blogging platform pretending to do websites, etc. The flexibility of Concrete5 is great and it is constantly being actively developed further. You can build an impressive site with all features without needing to resort to paid add-ons. Very easy, graphical interface.
who provide a CMS package to their services..great product..
I have been looking for some time for a website builder that truly allows me to construct a professional-looking site easily and without having to spend hours fiddling with file managers and obscure editing techniques. Concrete5 is the answer - really intuitive and easy to use, and the results look great. No more struggling with WordPress for me!
I have used this for dozens of sites - it's powerful, quick to deploy and easy to customise. Add-ons are helpful - many free, and lots of others at very modest costs for the amount of coding and work it would take to make yourself. I love it.
I highly recommend Concrete5. I have two websites built using the CMS and if you know PHP the sky is the limit.
Concrete5 is such a flexible framework beyond being a great CMS. You can build entire applications using the robust API and get your clients the functionality they need, without having several solutions to get there. GREAT CMS!
I've tried several CMS systems such as Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress, e107, etc. I always had a problem with them where they had this confusing structure of modules and pages and page categories and page subpages, and it was like learning a whole different language. This CMS actually works like a WYSIWYG. Drag blocks around rather than using a config page, click on blocks and edit them right there instead of on a separate edit page, etc. It works so much better for visual thinkers.
I think concrete5 is very simple, I've tried Joomla, CMS Made Simple and some others but those were pretty confusing. I think its great!
for the siteops who do this 'gratis' the CMS is lacking a couple of things to make this work. They are available via expensive add-ons. Who pays for a forum add-on, anyways, when there is already a multitude of free forums out there. To be fair, the CMS is dead simple to install and to make changes. My only issue is the add-ons which should be included in the default package such as forums. There are plenty of other freebies that they have as add-on modules, to be fair.
I tried Concrete5 over a year ago and gave up with it. A few weeks ago I tried it again, and have quite simply switched almost all of my sites over to it. I've also posted a couple of support messages, and have had quick, helpful responses within hours.
