Does every thing I want and more It may not be a CMS but I am using it that way as there are mods that make it a great cms.

I have used SMF on and off for over 20 years. I still love it because it's just as easy to download, customize and use as before. The themes are still just so beautiful!!! Thank you SMF for still being here and even better!

I've been using SMF for 12 years now and I'm very happy! It is very easy to use, the support on their site is great and they have a big focus on stability. It's the most secure forum on the market and they spend a lot of time on product security and LTS. Really happy about that! Once it is released, you know it's perfect! Really recommend this software.

I have used them all and SMF is the best and heres why... 1) Customization / Mod add-ons - some forums have this feature, some dont... 2) Feature packed - some forums offer basic function or miss out on certain things, SMF has everything. 3) its free... vBulletin costs hundreds per year yet this SMF 2.0.1 is free and is just as good.

This is one of the best forum options out there, especially since its free. Very comparable to Invision and well maintained. I would have rated it a straight 5, BUT due to issues with Bridges to CMS, which is almost always needed, had to drop it one. If you are thinking to install version 2 it has many MAJOR issues with its SSI interface to integrate the script into your CMS.

I've been using SMP for four year. I wouldn't use anything else. It's easy to customize and the simple machines crew are quick to respond to technical questions... often walking me through things I have no clue about.. quite friendly for the novice

I have used SMF for years and have never been disappointed by their service nor their product. They offer excellent support and a great deal of tested and approved board themes and modifications. Each theme and modification is thoroughly tested and approved before showing up on their site. This helps prevent malicious authors from hurting users. Overall, the best forum software I have found. :)
